I have to tell you this! I´m playing ToeJam & Earl: Panic on Funkotron at the moment and reached level 7 today, about 45% of the game. I fell in love with this game, it´s very entertaining. I mean, I´m not a fan of hiphop music but the game has a great 90´s style hiphop soundtrack, amazing graphics (remembers me of MTV) and very good controls. It´s not only a jump´n run game, it is much more. The role playing elements are fun - It´s cool to ring at the other aliens´ doors and they open to talk to you, giving you tips and hints. The additional secret passages, the ´Hyper Funk Zone´ (where you can collect points and items) and the enemys (the bad guys from planet Earth ) are making the game outstanding. You can swim underwater, you can shake some trees to get presents (or heavy objects on your head ) and you can use the so called hyper funk scan to find some items easier or to teleport yourself through different walls to find even more secret places. I have a great time playing it. What did you guys played today?

I play it almost every day. Only real machine, emulators are for testing homebrew, haha. Well yestarday it was Thunder Force IV. I love a nice horizontal shooter. Not so big on vertical shooters though. I started with TF III around 1993 (the year I got my first MD) and I was completely blown out when TF IV came out. I didn't hesitate to get TF V on Saturn (which has better graphics than the PlayStation haha). Playing Thunder Force always stir strong emotions and memories from the days where I would struggle to beat the game hours a day, and then try it again on a harder difficulty, since the game has different endings for each. Needless to say, it's one of the most powerful soundtracks on the Mega Drive, it just shows what that FM Synth can do if worked with properly, and TechnoSoft has a history of doing that!

Completed ToeJam & Earl Panic on Funkotron last night. I had to start it again after I made some mistakes But no problem, it´s very enjoyable with amazing characters, a unique story and an outstanding, long ending sequence. Highly recommended to people who love crazy games. I just unlocked The Ooze on Sonic Mega Collection Plus on PS2, that will be my next target before Dorke and Ymp for SNES arrives ^,^ I play it almost every day. Only real machine, emulators are for testing homebrew, haha. Awesome, finally somebody who understands me xD Well yesterday it was Thunder Force IV. I just took a look at the first two stages and wow it´s very impressive. Too bad I´m not good in such shooting games haha. And the music is pretty good

Only real machine, emulators are for testing homebrew, haha. While i generally agree to this (most emulators aren't accurate at all) and i'm certainly thankfuly to own a couple game consoles, over the past years i started to really like Emulators for their online gaming capability. I have several friends who i met online and live somewhere else or friends who moved away for various reasons, usually too far away to invite them over (one of my closer friends now lives in Switzerland, i can't just invite him over like in the old days) One friend never even had a console when he was younger, he was PC only and not even a hardcore gamer before he met me but i remember one satuday afternoon, we were both online, my graphic card at the time just died so all i had was a shitty low tier one so i said "Let's play some Mega Drive", we blasted through Streets of Rage 1 & 2, Golden Axe 1 & 2, played some NHL and FIFA as well as trying out Sonic 2's Multiplayer and we had a ton of fun, he certainly fell in love with the Mega Drive, since three days later he told me "I just bought the Mega Drive Ultimate Collection for my PS3", i know, again evil emulation but i thought it was pretty awesome Lately i'm playing quite a bit wrestling games, even bought some for various consoles, so the last MD games i played were Cutie Suzukie Rindside Angels, WWF Royal Rumble and WWF Raw...after all, beating up Bret Hart is always a lot of fun

I like emulators for when the real world takes over. Some mega drive games cost a fortune (mega man willy wars complete is about £250), or if it means someone can play against me in a competition when they wouldn't be able to any other way.
I am very lucky that the majority of my ntsc games came from one very generous friend, but buying much more is not something that is practical and also a lot of the games I do not have are rubbish

Lately i'm playing quite a bit wrestling games, even bought some for various consoles, so the last MD games i played were Cutie Suzukie Rindside Angels, WWF Royal Rumble and WWF Raw...after all, beating up Bret Hart is always a lot of fun I used tp play Royal Rumble and Raw on SNES, it´s fun in two player mode. Me and my uncle always played the Rumble and when a CPU opponent entered the ring, one of us grabbed him and made an Irish Whip to the other one, eliminating them all after they entered the ring until we where the last two wrestlers ... but why is it fun to hit the Hitman? It´s not funny for the Gordman I just unlocked The Ooze on Sonic Mega Collection Plus on PS2, that will be my next target... I am very disappointed here. Those idiots changed the colour palette for The Ooze on Sonic Mega Collection Plus and it looks strange and annoying. The PAL version for the Mega Drive is very expensive at the moment Some mega drive games cost a fortune (mega man willy wars complete is about £250) That´s always interesting, because it seems that there are enough copies of Wily Wars on EvilBay.

... but why is it fun to hit the Hitman? It´s not funny for the Gordman I absolutely despise him so it's fun to imagine i give him another consussion with all those chair shots It is rare but also sellers today go by name value and search through forums looking how rare a game is and what they can charge. It's funny, i got Ninja Gaiden for 5€ from ebay because here in europe it's called Shadow Warrior and it seems most sellers on ebay didn't knew that back then Today everything with name seems to get a 300% price raise at least just because it's a well known title, regardless if it sold millions of units or not (like Shenmue 2 going for usually 50-60€)

Everything that wears this word is valuable. You can put the logo on a rubber and sell it for 20€. It would be worth it, it´s Zelda! XD Some games sell for so much because they are fun, like Frontschweine (Hogs of War). And congrats for getting Ninja Gaiden so cheap, it seems that it´s very hard to find now.

The hideout can be a big challenge until you learn the timing of the platforms, and the final island too, especially the final jumps to the last boss... it's not super easy but you should be able to do it now, if you're playing with a controller. The ending is quite fun!

Never been able to complete it either. If I remember correct the ghosts killed me last time I gave it a good shot.
Been playing a bit of Ecco Jr. & Shining Force. Ecco Jr. Is very simplistic but quite fun and relaxing.
Shining Force has that annoying aspect that I have to open up a menu every time I want to talk to an NPC instead of just pressing a button. But you get used to it after a while.

The ending is quite fun! Are the final jumps onto invisable platforms that appear when you land? Thats as far as i got as a kid.

I completed ToeJam & Earl (the first game) last night. What a blast! There are 25 stages and I always thought there are 20. At stage 17, I have noticed that I still need 6 ship pieces. On stage 22 (I played as TJ on a random world), I had only one life left and knew won´t complete it again (one game takes many hours!) but fortunately I got two presents with extra lifes. I´ve lost one more (damn boogeymans^^) and completed the game after. Luckily ToeJam is a bit faster than Earl, but has a shorter life bar. I am very pleased with the ending The new game will be awesome for sure. Now, after completing Dorke & Ymp and ToeJam & Earl, I don´t know what to play next. I have too many games at home xD By the way, I played Quackshot as well some weeks ago. It´s a very decent game
